Both hats and caps fall within the category of headgear and headwear accessories. However, all hats have brims and shaped crowns, whereas a cap is less structured, and doesn't have a brim, but is never without a peak or visor. They were a prominent feature of women's attire, particularly during the late 19th century and early 20th century. Large, extravagant hats became a way for women to showcase their sense of style and social status. Prolonged exposure to these UV rays can lead to serious skin issues, including sunburn and an increased risk of skin cancer later in life. A high-quality, well-designed hat provides essential protection for your child's face, neck, and ears.

This type of hat is also called as the Panama hats which is most famously made in Ecuador. The hat has extended rim with a deep crown which makes the hat from falling down easily. The brim is also accompanied with a pair of colourful round balls which makes the hat look more attractive. All palm hats start with a natural palm leaf, woven into strips by hand. It can take up to 30 days to weave enough strands to become a hat body. The soft, flexible, durable young leaves of Carludovica palmata are used to weave the famous Panama Hatsโhandmade brimmed straw hatsโand other artisan items such as baskets and masks featured particularly by Panama's Embera and Wounaan indigenous groups. It takes six young leaves to make one Panama Hat.
