Why TradesFolks Says an OTP Is Incorrect or Expired
An OTP is a short-lived, one-time credential. A correct-looking code can still fail if it belongs to an older session or has already been replaced.
Common causes
- The code was copied from an older email after a resend.
- The OTP validity window expired.
- One or more digits were entered incorrectly or incompletely.
- The verification session no longer matches the request session.
Recover
- Return to the OTP screen and request a fresh code if allowed.
- Use the newest email and enter all six digits exactly.
- Avoid refreshing or opening multiple parallel verification flows while testing.
Security
- Do not ask another person to forward an OTP.
- Do not paste OTPs into third-party forms or messages.
Frequently asked questions
Can I reuse a successful OTP?
No. OTPs are designed for one-time verification and should not be reusable.
Will requesting a new OTP invalidate the old one?
It can. Use only the latest code after a resend.
