Ganoderma Extract

Ganoderma lucidum (Curtis) P. Karst is a medicinal mushroom belonging to the family Ganodermataceae and is mostly known with the names Reishi or Lingzhi globally [87]. Currently, G. lucidum (GL) has been extensively used in TM to enhance life force and longevity [88,89]. Ganoderma is a genus of polypore fungi in the family Ganodermataceae that includes about 80 species, many from tropical regions. They have a high genetic diversity and are used in traditional Asian medicines. Ganoderma can be differentiated from other polypores because they have a double-walled basidiospore. Ganoderma sinense is a black to purplish-black or dark brown laccate species of Ganoderma found in China, Japan and Taiwan growing on decaying wood of broad-leaved trees and pine stumps. It is used in traditional Asian medicine, where it is known as zizhi (??, purple Ganoderma) in Chinese.
