Echinacea extract is a traditional herbal remedy used to prevent and treat upper respiratory tract infections (Barnes et al., 2005). Recently, it has been widely used as CHM. Echinacea is a group of plants that are rich in antioxidants and may help support immunity. They're available in several different forms, which vary in terms of recommended dosage. [2,3] The complex chemical composition of the roots and herbs of Echinacea involves alkamides [Figure 1], ketoalkenes, caffeic acid derivatives, polysaccharides, and glycoproteins, which are believed to be responsible for noted immunostimulatory and anti-inflammatory activities.
