Puranpoli

Puranpoli is a traditional Indian sweet flatbread, especially popular in Maharashtra and during festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi. It is made from a dough of wheat flour, which is rolled out and stuffed with a sweet filling of chana dal (split chickpeas), jaggery (unrefined sugar), and cardamom. The filling is cooked until it becomes thick and caramelized. The dough is then wrapped around the filling and rolled into a thin, round shape before being cooked on a griddle until golden brown. Puranpoli has a delightful combination of sweet and slightly nutty flavors, and is enjoyed as a dessert or snack. It is often served with a dollop of ghee (clarified butter) for added richness.
