Modak

Modak is a traditional Indian sweet, popular especially in Maharashtra and during Ganesh Chaturthi. It is a steamed dumpling made from rice flour or wheat flour, filled with a sweet mixture of grated coconut, jaggery (unrefined sugar), and cardamom. The dough is shaped into small, round parcels and steamed until soft and aromatic. Modak has a chewy texture with a rich, sweet filling that melts in the mouth. It is often offered as a prasad (religious offering) to Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed deity, and is cherished for its delicious taste and symbolic significance.
