The technology behind our torque sensors are strain gages. These gages are arranged into a Wheatstone Bridge circuit, which converts the physical, mechanical force into an electrical signal that can be filtered, displayed, and recorded for further processing. In the automotive industry, torque transducers are used in the tool testing and fastener quality auditing processes to ensure that torque levels are being applied correctly. A torque sensor is a sensor that converts mechanical torque to an electrical signal. At FUTEK we manufacture two varieties, Reaction and Rotary. While each type measures torque, they both work differently. Reaction Torque sensors work by measuring the reaction force generated by an object that is creating torque.
