Eggshells contain around 900mg of elemental calcium (calcium that can be absorbed by our body) and it is found in the form of Calcium Carbonate. It also contains other microelements like boron, magnesium, manganese, copper, iron, molybdenum, sulfur, zinc, etc. Our body can easily absorb eggshell powder. Eggshell contains of 1% magnesium carbonate, 1% calcium phosphate, 4% organic matter, and 94% calcium carbonate [2]. Based on previous work, it was found that the thickness of its outer and inner eggshell is 0.55 and 0.015 mm, respectively [2]. The term eggshell is a term for the outer covering of a hard-shelled egg, and some forms of eggs with soft outer coats. The generalized eggshell structure, which varies widely among species, is a protein matrix lined with mineral crystals, usually of a calcium compound such as calcium carbonate .
