Current Sensor

A current sensor is a device that detects and measures the flow of electrical current in a circuit, converting it into a proportional signal for monitoring or control purposes. It can measure both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC). Current sensors are widely used in various applications, such as power management, motor control, and energy monitoring systems.

There are different types of current sensors, including Hall-effect sensors, shunt resistors, and current transformers. Hall-effect sensors use magnetic fields generated by the current to provide non-contact measurements, while shunt resistors directly measure voltage drop across a known resistance. Current transformers are ideal for high AC current applications and are commonly used in industrial settings.
