Hanging scales, also called crane scales, work a bit differently than ordinary scales. Instead of putting a load on a weighing pan or a platform, the load is suspended using the crane scale's hook. The scale itself can hang from machinery, hooks and other apparatuses. A weighing scale is a device that is used to determine weight. Weighing scales can be divided into two primary types: spring scales and balances. Spring scales measure weight using Hooke's Law, which deforms in proportion to the weight placed on the load-receiving end. The face is where you can read the weighing measurement. On analog hanging scales, the face will consist of pointer that will indicate how much your item weighs with pre-marked measurements. A digital scale will produce an electronic numeric readout.
