Rayon, also called viscose and commercialised in some countries as sabra silk or cactus silk, is a semi-synthetic fiber, made from natural sources of regenerated cellulose, such as wood and related agricultural products. It has the same molecular structure as cellulose. Rayon fiber is a manufactured fiber composed of 100% regenerated cellulose, or regenerated cellulose in which chemical substituents have replaced not more than 15% of the hydrogens of the hydroxyl groups. Rayon fiber is soft, comfortable and versatile. Rayon is a smooth fabric, sometimes even silky, with a soft texture similar to cotton or linen. The soft fabric also has a fluid drape, which means it hangs and flows rather than staying rigid and keeping its shape.
