PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Aversion Therapy Unit
An Aversion Therapy Unit is a device used in behavioral therapy to help individuals break harmful or unwanted habits by creating negative associations with those behaviors. It works by delivering mild, unpleasant stimuli—such as electric shocks, unpleasant tastes, or loud noises—whenever the unwanted action is performed or thought of. The goal is to condition the brain to associate the negative stimulus with the harmful behavior, thereby reducing the desire to engage in it. Aversion therapy has been used in treatments for issues like addiction, phobias, or destructive behaviors. However, its ethical use is debated, as it can cause discomfort and stress, and its long-term effectiveness may vary depending on the individual and the behavior being treated.
