Basmati Rice

Basmati is a fragrant Indian rice with an intoxicating natural aroma. Its nutty, buttery flavor pairs well with savory dishes like curries and other Middle Eastern and Asian fare. White Basmati Rice is lighter and fluffier than traditional white rice and has a more concentrated flavor than the jasmine variety. “Basmati” is long grain aromatic rice grown for many centuries in a specific geographical area, in the Himalayan foothills of the Indian sub-continent, blessed with characteristics of extra-long slender grains that elongate at least twice their original size with a characteristics soft and fluffy texture upon cooking. Basmati is gluten-free and low in fat. In addition to containing all eight essential amino acids and folic acid, it's very low in sodium and cholesterol-free.
