A toner cartridge drum, also known as a photoreceptor drum, is a critical component in laser printers and copiers that facilitates the printing process. It is an aluminum or plastic cylinder coated with a light-sensitive material. The drum is charged electrostatically by a corona wire or roller as it rotates. When exposed to a laser beam or LED, the light causes the charged areas to discharge, creating an electrostatic image of the printed content on the drum's surface. Toner particles, attracted to the charged areas, adhere to the drum. The drum then transfers the toner onto the paper, which is heated and fused to create the final print. Regular maintenance and replacement of toner cartridges drums are essential for maintaining print quality and extending the lifespan of laser printers and copiers.
