Bupleurum extract is extracted from the dried root of Bupleurum vulgare or Bupleurum angustifolia in the Umbelliferae family. Fine brown-yellow powder, pungent, bitter, slightly cold in nature. Excavate in spring and autumn, remove stems, leaves and sediment, and dry. Also known as ground smoke, mountain vegetables, mushroom grass, firewood, it belongs to the liver and gall meridian. Since Bupleurum contains volatile oils (eugenol, caproic acid, r-undecanoic acid lactone and p-methoxybenzenedione), saikosaponin (sapogenin A) is therefore used for colds and fever.
