It started at a time in Kolkata and probably even in India Splashing Meadows - Indian Fish Aquarium The Pet Shop at 39, Syed Amir Ali Avenue is over three decades old and was the first pet shop of Calcutta. The Pet Shop was a revolutionary concept in Calcutta and Splashing Meadows is one of its kind. It was featured in almost all the Dailies of India, Television and also some magazines like The Telegraph, The Statesman, Times of India, Hindustan Times, India Today, The week, Enadu etc. It caters to specific demands of the hobbyist, straying away from the mundane. In Splashing Meadows one can get aquaria of all shapes and sizes. In this age of "Designer goods" why not designer aquarium? Marine aquaria and planted Aquaria have fascinated hobbyist , but unfortunately the high mortality rate of the fish, lack of proper guidance and unorganized nature of the trade in the hands of less knowledgeable people had deterred them. The aim of Splashing Meadows has been to popularize the Planted Aquarium with landscaping, The Reef Aquarium, the fish only marine aquarium etc as a hobby, make it available to the enthusiast and give them proper guidelines for maintaining a healthy aquarium.
